I’m really terrible at talking about myself, but here’s a little blip.

I am a huge geek. That essentially sums it up. Basically, I love superheroes, books, Supernatural, giraffes, and Halloween.
I take too many pictures and have a menagerie of rescue animals. I hate doing dishes but can do laundry for days. I collect postcards and hoard pens.
I have a flair for being creative and credit that to a fabulous camp counselor and friend, Captain Creativity himself.
I am NOT the stereotypical Army wife. I just happened to fall in love with/marry a man who happens to be a soldier. After 21+ years, he has finally retired from active duty and will start his civilian career very soon.
I have my Bachelor’s in English. The creative writing/literature kind with no teaching endorsements. I got this degree to pursue a career in publishing. While I’d love to edit/proofread manuscripts for books one day, I became a stay-at-home mom so my kids wouldn’t have to be in daycare. Once upon a time, I was a history major (double major = briefly insane). My love of words and travel continued through my college career. I have a minor in both history and art.
I love to travel. I’ve been to nearly every state in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and numerous state and national parks/monuments. So far, I have lived in 8 states. I document EVERYTHING.
I am a photo junkie. I was once a photography major in college (remember the art minor?) and loved the photograph side of things. Not so much the job side. So I take TONS of pictures on our many travels. I rarely document myself so you won’t find many snaps with my face in them unless I get the tripod/timer involved or trust another person to handle my Rebel.
I am a HUGE sports nut. Grew up in Husker nation. I have favorite teams spanning the board for nearly every major sport and a few international ones as well.
I write and read like it’s a religion. Such a book worm and I love getting lost in words. I have drawers full of half finished stories and love how certain pens feel going across the page (hence a minor pen hoarding situation).
I am such a family oriented person, people outside of my bubble think I’m too attached. I grew up always moving from place to place, so my only true stability was my family. I’ve come to treat close friends as family as well. Now that I am married and living hundreds of miles from them, I have an even keener appreciation for them and I cherish ever last second spent together.
I am the mommy to 3 beautiful cats (Jack, Hina, and Taz), a feisty (not so) little staffie/terrier mix pooch (Audie), a giant baby of a German shepherd (Indie), and a huge-earred German shepherd/husky/mutt mix (Roxie). All of whom are rescues from humane societies, a rescue group, a puppy mill, and a stray.

We had to help Audie cross the rainbow bridge in January 2022. His cancer came back and we couldn’t save him. We miss him terribly. My soul dog.
Roxie is our latest addition. It took us a long time to feel ready for another pup, but Indie was still grieving her brother, and her anxiety was getting worse, so we thought we’d see what the shelter had to offer. Thus, we added a very busy, loving monster to our menagerie.

I became a human mommy in June 2020 to a precious little boy. He is truly the light of my life and words can’t express how much I love him. It’s so fun to watch him learn and grow every day. I couldn’t be more blessed to be his mama.

We completed our two-legged family in May 2025 with our beautiful baby girl. I never knew my heart could love another kiddo like I love this sweet girl. I’m truly in awe of how amazing she is and being her mama is such a wonderful ride.

My husband is an amazing man. He’s my best friend and he adores our fur children and is fiercely protective of our kids. He’s got an adventurous spirit and we compliment each other very well.

We’re excited to see where our road takes us.
Stay tuned.
