March 2019

Holy cow, tomorrow is April.

This month has been slow going in the adventure department.

We did squeeze one short journey out. We found a veteran owned moonshine distillery in Pleasant View, Tennessee.

It is amazing! Leatherwood Distillery is a tiny little distillery a few exits down from where we live. The owner/brewmaster is a Special Forces vet that was stationed at Fort Campbell.

The rest of the month was just filled with work.

My parents came to visit for a few days. As always, the visit wasn’t nearly long enough.

I had a few job interviews, so there might be some changes coming in that department. It’s kind of a lateral move but less weekend hours. We’ll see how it goes!

In addition to the new job stuff on the horizon, I also joined Paparazzi Accessories.

I’ll be selling $5 jewelry. I hope it works out for me since I love the jewelry and think it’s something that will sell itself so to speak. I only need to sell 25 pieces a month which I hope won’t be too difficult (since I’ve purchased a ton just for myself and can always find something fun).

Next month will likely be even slower in the adventuring in department. The Mister will be at SLC until the end of May.

And we’ll be bringing home our new four-legged addition. We’ve been told all the boys are spoken for so we’ll be getting a girl.

My 31st birthday is coming quickly. It’s going to be a lot of changes coming this month.

Here’s to hoping April brings new adventures.

Until then!

Cheers!

February 2019

How is it already March?

It definitely doesn’t feel like it. The weather needs to start acting like spring for me to buy it. It’s rainy and cold and I’m over it…but such is life in Tennessee.

It’s been a heck of a month. We kept pretty busy and managed quite a few little excursions.

We started out pretty rough.

Audie learned that skunks are not to be messed with.  He’s still pretty ripe smelling, but significantly better than he was.

His poor ears were bugging him from all the baths….and his brand new collar had to be trashed because there was no washing out the smell.

Despite the crappy weather outside and the bad luck with outdoor critters, I have managed to grow a few things inside to get a jump on my spring/summer patio.

My hyacinths and tulips spent the winter in the dark laundry room and are really starting to take off.

Our second weekend consisted of a short jaunt to Nashville. We took in the Yazoo Brewing Company for a tasting/tour.

With our fabulous tour guide Cassie at Yazoo Brewing.

Not wanting to waste the day away, we also took in Madame Tussaud’s wax museum.

The detailing on these bad boys (and girls) was incredible!

Sure looks like Miley!

We kept the adventures going into the following week.

We had an awesome opportunity to meet Gary Sinise on post for his book Grateful American signing.

The Mister, being the born-and-raised Alabamian he is, had to crack ice cream jokes with Lt. Dan himself.

Quite the humbling experience to meet him.

In less exciting news, I also added to my superhero statue collection with a sepia toned Harley Quinn.

Looks great with the other girls.

This last week of February has brought some chaos to my workplace.

Lightning struck our building and really wreaked havoc on all of our electronic equipment.

Incredibly lucky the building didn’t have more damage!

I for one am glad it is my weekend off. I definitely need to recover.

Apart from that, we haven’t had much else going on.

We did get word that some shepherd pups were born over the Valentine’s Day weekend.  We’re planning to add another four-legged family member to our pack.  It’s not the most responsible thing, but we don’t think we’ll find a better time to add a new baby. We hope that a puppy will be an easier adjustment for Audie and there will be zero drama in getting it home.  We’re not sure if it’ll be a girl or boy yet (we have the option for both), but we don’t particularly care. The pups are about two weeks old now so we’re anxiously awaiting the next photos.

I am going to try to squeeze a few more adventures out for this month, since The Mister is going to be away for some leadership training in April.

I think my parents are coming to visit sometime in March too.  We’re heading to a veteran-owned moonshine distillery this weekend so there will be at least one adventure in the books for the month.

So until next time…

Cheers!
