April came and went before I had a chance to blink it seems.
Really, this month flew by. On the 10th I celebrated my 30th birthday with a couple of my coworkers. They got together without me knowing and bought me a beer hat. Our Tuesday was definitely a good one, especially since I usually don’t do much for my birthday.

Other than the birthday, it’s been a very calm month. I planted a bunch of flowers for my patio and we got to enjoy a little bit of nice weather.
I might have gone a little overboard with the flowers this year. I planted succulents, African daisies, lavender, wave petunias, hyacinth, and tulips. Plus I tried to brighten up the indoors with an orchid and a new African violet. My dianthus came back from last year and the azalea bush out front decided to bloom.
We were invited out to dinner at a local Clarksville brewery by the Hozas again. It is always good to catch up and try new, local stuff. We enjoyed the beer variety and, of course, the conversation!

We did have a bit of a day trip adventure this last weekend. The Mister has been in Pathfinder class for most of the month, so I wanted to get away for a little while to celebrate his graduation and to go exploring.
We ended up going to Franklin, Tennessee to see some of the historical sites there, including Lotz House and Carnton Plantation House. I’ve been to numerous major Civil War battle sites, but none that were focused mostly on the Confederate fight. As a history buff, I was pretty pumped to check this side of history out.

In addition to checking out some southern history, we hit up a couple of breweries as well. Mantra Artisan Ales and Cool Springs Brewery. We didn’t care for Mantra (mostly because they specialized in sour beer and we don’t like it, and because their service was sub-par). Cool Springs on the other hand was awesome. We enjoyed it thoroughly!

All in all, it’s been a good month. It flew by. Hard to believe it’ll be May tomorrow. It certainly doesn’t seem like the year is nearly half over.
As always, we have a few adventures in the works for the next month. A few coworkers and I are planning to check out the (in)famous Bell Witch Cave in Adams, Tennessee sometime this coming month, as well as getting together for our usual Tuesday shenanigans. I’m sure there will be a few adventures with the Mister as well (after all, he might actually be home for our anniversary this year!). He just doesn’t know it yet.
